- Venting should conform with the National Fire Protection Association Standard No. 211. Local codes that supersede NFPA No. 211 must be complied with. Chimneys are required to extend 3 feet above the highest point where they pass through the roof and at least 2 feet higher than any portion of the building within 10 feet.
- All items supplied by Southern Pride are designated by (*). All other items are supplied by contractor.
- Minimum clearances from combustible materials:
- Back - 2 inches
- Left Side- 18 inches (across for service)
- Right Side - 24 inches (access to firebox)
- Top - 18 inches
- Front - 48 inches (access for loading & unloading only)
- Chimney Connectors - 18 inches
- Floor - Combustible
- NOTE: 2 inch spacing for the back and left side are acceptable, however, access must be provided for service.
- Views show standard model. Firebox Door, Gearbox Cover and Grease Drain may change sides. Specify when ordering.
- Vent Hood Installation:
- VENTING: The Model XLR-1600-4 must be provided with an exhaust ventilation system in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association standard for removal of smoke and grease laden vapors from commercial equipment, NFPA 96. Local codes may supersede this recommendation. Check local building codes prior to installation.
- Through-The-Wall Installation:
- The Model XLR-1600-4 can be mounted through the wall to save on floor space. Use the Southern Pride Insulation Kit between the oven and any combustible material in the wall.
- CAUTION:
- Negative air pressure on a direct vented oven will cause smoke to exit from the Draft Diverter into the room.
- Do not use elbows or offsets in the 6" or 10" Chimneys of a direct vented oven.
- Vent Systems should comply with NFPA 96.
