A New Challenge for Southern Pride
Early in the morning on Wednesday, January 28th a combination of several inches of snow on top of a few inches of ice collapsed the roof over the main manufacturing facility for Southern Pride. AS A RESULT FROM THE COLLAPSE A GAS LINE BROKE WHICH caused a small fire that was rapidly put out by fast action of the Marion Fire Department.
“The facility is a total loss” according to Jared Robertson, Vice President of Operations, “We are now accessing the damage to MANUFACTURING equipment, materials and ovens under construction in order to MOST EFFECIENTLY AND EFFECTIVLY GET BACK IN PRODUCTION.”
“Our number one priority is establishing communications and to get our Technical Support system up and running to help our customers who might have issues,” he added, “The phones will be back to normal on Monday Feb. 2nd 2009. We have ordered some new parts and are moving existing parts from the plant to our temporary facility so we were able to ship parts out on Friday Jan. 30th 2009.”
The business offices have moved into temporary quarters but the phone numbers and e-mail addresses are the same.
