The trim pieces are similar to a picture frame and are typically fastened to the wall using an adhesive or sheet metal screws. The smoker can be installed with the front flush with the wall or it can protrude into the room. How far in would depend on the model (distance from the face of the smoker to the front of the chain drive cover) and the wall thickness. Chain drive cover must remain “outside the wall” for access.
